~3/29/13~ He has Risen!!! praise God he has Risen!!!

As you all know I am Christian, but I am not perfect. Jesus died on the cross for our sins. I thank him and praise him for that sacrifice.  I still cry evertime I think of what he went through to save us.  Jesus had a mother, friends, a life, love, he had hope for each and everyone of us.

Even though I weep of the pain that Jesus had to go through for us, I am reminded of the fact that he has Risen!! Here is a reminder of what we need to remember~Jesus Christ is our savior.  Thank you Lord, for you ultimate sacrifices and allowing us to have the opporuntuly to be forgiven for our sins. Happy Easter everyone!

1 Peter 2:21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.

God Bless you all,

Laura

~Anniversary getaway and Beauty Bargains~ 3/5/13

What a lovely weekend I had with my sweet husband. We were not able to celebrate our 10 year anniversary on February the 22th weekend so he planned a night away the next weekend.  And that worked out even better!  Celebrating two weekends in a row sounds like a great idea to me.

We had a great time reminiscing and enjoying time together.  He even surprised me with a lunch date with (my best friend Lisa ) who was also a bridesmaid in our wedding.  What a great time we had.  A memory I will never forget.

With that said, enjoy my beauty bargain outfit from TJMaxx.  Even though it is March and I am gearing up for spring and summer styles, I am having to incorporate the winter and spring season in with my wardrobe. March weather in the south can be very fickle....one day its 60 degrees and the next its 40 degrees.  At least I know both of the outfits that I bought can be worn seasonal. And that's a great way to save money all year long.

Going a little wild....I love this shirt that I bought from TJMaxx for $12.99.  I thought it was fun, classic, and edgy all in one.  Remember ladies, its all in how you style it.

Everyone needs a little black dress. This was the perfect little black dress for me and our weekend getaway.  $24.99 TJMaxx

Hope you enjoyed my beauty bargain styles from our anniversary weekend.

And a big thank you to my mom and dad...aka~(Gammie and PopPop) for keeping Dill. We love you both so much and are very blessed to have such amazing parents/grandparents for Dill Pickle.

God Bless and Happy Styling!

Laura

Good by style!  Hello Disney..Literally!

We all know that Disney is the most magical place on earth.....at least for the kiddos (my magical place would be on a warm island in the Caribbean).  But Orlando, Florida and Mickey and friends are as close as I am going to get these days…Ha!

One of my jobs as a stylist is to help get my clients organized by packing for their vacations.  I want them to go on their vacation stress free and style fabulous!  And I feel like I achieve those goals.  Now on to my vaca!  Note to self:  when it comes to Disney, all those cute shoes and outfits are completely thrown out the window!  By the time you walk/run /ride every ride you can possibly ride and chase after kids, the reality of the situation is comfort.   Comfort is the key when it comes to Disney fashion (I learned this on day two!)   I can say, minus the major pain in my feet by the end of the day, the sun burn and extra calories burned running to and from Disney rides all in all it was a blast! I wish I could have captured every smile that I saw on Dill and his cousins' faces (and on his Daddy’s face too). We had a blast! It might not have been the Caribbean get away we all long for but it was certainly worth it to see the smiles on those sweet faces and experience the excitement that was had by all.

So enjoy my Disney pics and enjoy the fact that Centsibly Chic threw fashion and style out the door for fun and comfort! I did however find ways to dress up my casual styles :-)

God bless,
Laura
And here we go....

We had so much fun!

 Being a "real" women

I have wanted to post this for quite some time now!  I want each and every one of you ladies to understand what a "real" women is. Yes, I am going to say this, because it has been brought to my attention on several different occasions; one being my business and people thinking I dress my fashion best every where I go (I wish I could do this ladies, but if you see me at Wal-Mart I can only be honest.... I will probably be in my workout clothes!) and two being my friends who feel hesitant to meet me places.
~ My normal fashion~

~Me and My birthday buddy~ I am so blessed to have her as a friend.

I am so blessed to be able to share my gift with others, by being a mom, wife and a business owner.  My gift is styling; it is a gift that God is allowing me to share with each and everyone of you!  BUT, in reality, life is busy and some days it's just hard to get it together and wear my favorite heels...especially to Wal-Mart :-)  And quite frankly, ladies, dressing in heels and a sassy outfit just to take your kids to the grocery store is probablly not a good idea!  Pushing that stupid race car cart is hard enough in sneakers, much less heels!  And chasing down a four year old in a dress is not pretty!

I had a moment with my friend, Heather, that prompted this write up.  We were celebrating both of our December birthdays together at Dunkin' Donuts. It's been so long since we have seen each other ladies...between the holidays, Heather having her second baby, sweet Andrew, and our older kids (husbands included in the kids comments!!!), life just got crazy busy!! So, better late than never!  A January birthday celebration was due for us. I laughed so hard because the first thing Heather asked me was..."are you going to be dressed cute?" I said "No! Girl, it's one of those mornings." It was like a nice way of telling each other "You know what? It's our birthday celebration and the one way we want to celebrate is to be comfortable and not have to deal with putting on make up and rushing out the door in heels and an outfit that took some time to put together!" That's a wonderful birthday gift. No styling, make up, or worries; just a nice time with a friend who wants to be comfortable, eat a donut and have a cup of coffee. So I literally rushed out the door in my sweats....and forgot Dill's lunch for school!  So, I turned back around grabbed his lunch making me 5 min late dropping him off.  Then, the teacher tells me it's Pajama Day at school...so, I turned back around frantically changed his clothes and got him to school.  All this, while my sweet friend was patiently waiting for me at Dunkin' Donuts. It's a good thing I took advantage of a no dressing up kind of day! Can you image me doing all that in cute outfit with my heels?!  I would have broken and heel and certainly sweated through a cute top!  While we chatted and laughed and talked about everything, I felt like we had missed each others lives the past three months.  Heather was telling me that she is slowly getting out of her "infant fog" and said I feel like I stay in one. I told her I wanted to do a blog about how it's ok to love fashion but its also ok to enjoy dressing down and embracing your mommy life and style.  As we discussed this, she opened a bottle to feed the baby and promptly spilled old spoiled formula all over herself!  She had obviously grabbed the wrong bottle!  Again, good think she didn't have on her nice clothes and shoes.  She certainly would have broken a heel darting to the bathroom!  So, I'm not going to judge....I'm going to join you ladies. I'm going to enjoy sitting cross legged in my sneakers and running pants, with no make up on, drinking coffee and eating a donut!  I'll save the fun styles for another time!

~A Centsibly Chic Christmas~

With all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, this picture reminded me of how important it is to enjoy every minute, everyday and every hour of the holiday season.  There is nothing like seeing the joy in a childs eyes!

A sweet little lady reminded me of this during candle light service. Of course, like any mom who wants his or her child to behave...I thought, oh my goodness, can we please sneak out and leave service?!?!  My child is asking to go to the bathroom, he's picking his nose while wiping it on my sleeve, and I am desperately
searching for things to entertain him, while I am trying to focus on the meaning of Christmas.  Lets just say my nerves were shot!!!

But, thank goodness for Gods timing. I am always worried about Dills behavior and it took these sweet, kind , words from this precious lady to remind me of how precious life is.  She kindly bent over and whispered in my ear... Treasure those moments in time that are precious.

Enjoy my family pics for the holiday's....and of course all of my beauty bargain outfits.  My Christmas eve dress was $69.00 from Steinmart. The great thing about my purchas is I can dress it up or down. I love versatility!

Dill Loves his cousins....

We also celebrate my birthday and my Grandmothers birthday during the Christmas holidays. I feel so blessed to share my birthdate with her.

What a blessing to have such an amazing family.

Birthday love and beach fun from my in-laws and sweet nephews.

Dill hit the jackpot at the arcade on my birthday...

My early morning jogs....ahhhh!

My birthday oysters...Yum!

And my birthday date...

And the best part about it all is we are so blessed to have such amazing friends and family to share it with.  We even got some visitors when we got back.

To all my family, friends and clients.  Thank you for making this a wonderful year for Centsibly Chic. Without your love, prayers and support I wouldn't make it with out

And this is how we are going to spend the rest of our week....HA!

xoxo

~12/20/12~Merry busy Christmas

Hey Ladies,

I am so sorry for the delays on my blog post.  I have been so busy with family, friends and with Centsibly Chic.  I want to remind everyone what this season is about.  We all know that God gives us gifts and I feel strongly that he has blessed me with Centsibly Chic. The gift of sharing my love for style and being able to work with some amazing women, is something I love. I always give thanks to the Lord above for opening up those doors for me.  With that said the one gift that we can all be grateful for is Jesus our Lord and savior. (John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.)

Please, remember those in need not only during the Christmas season, but, all year long.  God bless you all and Merry Chirstmas!

Christmas Party for Dill...

Looking at lights with the family...and if my eyes look a bit puffy I was crying. Sorry folks ,certain Christmas songs really get to me. From the words of my child and husband Girls cry boys don't...Thanks.

This picture says it all. check out both of thier faces...ha!

Ok, I had to show this picture. I am going to be the first to admit that life gets crazy this time of the year and we all need to step back and remember how wonderful life is.  And if you don't get if fully, then find a child and see it through their eyes.

I got so tickled at Dill when he came to get me this morning.  He was thrilled when his milked spilled and made a Mickey Mouse head...Yes, I got so tickled and totally needed it this morning or this month for that matter...HA!  Kids can really put things in perspective.  I love this boy!

It does look like Mickey Mouse...Too funny!

Gosh, I love my job! I am so very blessed to be able to enjoy what I do and meet some amazing women all at the same time.  With that said, Centsibly Chic has had a very busy month of styling.  So, I hope you enjoy my first two wardrobe/style makeovers as much as I did. A big thank you to Lee Ann and Susan…you ladies are awesome! Each of them really let me come in and take over their wardrobe and their style.  Here is a big ole hug for you both....muah!

~11/26/12~

I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgivng, I know I did.  Anytime I can eat and spend time with family and friends makes it all the more special.  with that said enjoy some fun family pics of my Thanksgivng and Auburn/Alabama game day fun. By the way~ Jeffery was thrilled about the outcome of the game, I, however, still had a great time, rocked my outfit,  and enjoyed good company.  That beats a silly football game any day....regardless of the outcome...HA!

Now, on to Christmas...I am already worn out.

We are all one big happy family! even with our in-laws or friends. Thats one thing we love in our family~ the more the merrier and the happy our holiday gatherings are. Glad my brother in laws family could make it and my in-laws!

We did miss Philann and her family.

Notice my besuty bargain outfit ladies~ This was my Dillards outlet store find, it was a summer tunic that I made into a fun fall style. I paired it with a bright tight,my fur vest from TjMaxx and my beauty bargain camel boots.  There you have it, the perfect outfit for a wonderful Thanksgving gathering.

The hostess with the mostess~my sweet and Betsy. Love ya Betsy!

Missing my sister Philann: (

There is nothing like having amazing grandmothers. We are all so blessed!

We were missing Libby and Philann.

Silly Boy's. This is what makes our holidays so special. Nothing like seeing joy in your childs eye's!

Now time for my game day pics...I have to say I was a trooper folks. The outcomes was awful but I really enjoyed my sweet...Bama freinds.  Can't say I enjoyed Jeffery, but I can say he enjoyed every minute of it...HA!

Oh well, I least I went...: ) notice the BIG smile on Jefferys face.

I had to bundle up for this awful game, I am really into capes and ponchos right now. They are affordable, cozy, versatile and very stylish~ thats my way of styling!

And before the Holiday's I had the pleasure of returning to my sweet client, now new friend, Tracis home.  I got her packed, styled and organized for  her for her trip to see her in-laws.  Traci did a little shopping since our last visit. I had the privilege of Part 2 of styling her new clothes.  I showed her how to incorporate them in with her current wardrobe. Here is a Sneak peek of this precious girl!

This was one of my favorite outfits...The reason why, is it looks like a million dollars and Traci looks amazing!

All I did was take a knee length, cotton jacket, added a fun ruffled blouse, this gave the jacket detail, belt, fun leopard heels... and wala! you have an amazing and affordable new look, that's a fun, and a classic style. This is a great tip for anyone.

Stay tuned for more of Traci's wardrobe/style makeover.

And here is one more tip~Traci bought this sequined dress that she could not return. When she tried it on it just wasn't fitting her the way she thought. So Centibly Chic stepped in and showed her how to piece items together, to give her outfit the look she was looking for when she first tried it on (this happens to all of us). Just by adding the blazer,Jewelry and shoes this can really change to entire dynamic of that questionable outfit.  Don't get rid of those questionable items in your closet.

Love this girl!

Be sure to check out the rest of Tracis wardrobe pics this week. As you can see I have been so busy, but so blessed. So bare with me ladies...muuuwaha!!

~11/22/12~

Happy Thanksgiving!

1) Thank God for the creative gifts he has given you. Do not put down your gifts. Do not envy the gifts of others. Do not boast in your gifts. Rather, thank God for the specific gifts he has given you, and do so with a spirit of humility and wonder.

2) Use and develop your creative gifts. Remember the parable of the talents? God does not want you to bury your gifts in the ground. If you have a sharp mind, develop it! If you have the ability to produce beautiful things with your hands, produce them! Work hard, and develop the gifts God has given you. The Bible says, “To whom much is given, much will be required.” Take the gifts that God has given you, develop them to the best of your ability, and then use them in loving service to God and others.

3) Engage all of life for God’s glory. Remember, “Everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving.” (1 Timothy 4:4) So if you are an artist, then yes, go ahead and paint scenes from the Bible, but also paint portraits and landscapes and snippets of life. If you are a musician, then yes, write praise songs to God, but also write love songs and fun songs and songs about all aspects of life. No matter where your gifts or interests lie, God can use you to bring him glory in this world.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all.  I hope you have a very happy day with your loved ones.  I will be sure to post some Thanksgiving pics of me and my family, and I can't wait to show you my latest style/wardrobe makeover.

God bless everyone, and please remember to pray for those in need and thank those that serve our country.

I really want to encourage each and everyone of you to pay it forward, not just during the holiday season but all year long.  God has blessed me in so many ways and I am so grateful for that. We all struggle with  many different things in our lives, but, its our jobs as Christ like followers to overcome those struggles and live for Jesus.  I am grateful that I can live my dream, and do what I know God wants me to continue to do...Which is to help and inspire women from the inside out.  I thank the Lord everyday, my family, I thank you, and all my clients for giving me this opportunity.  God bless you all and Happy Thanksgiving!

God Bless,

Laura

~11/12/12~

Hello ladies, this time of year can be super busy for us all.  But please lets not forget those in need now and always. Love you all and God Bless!

Acts 20:35

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’

11/12/12~ Enjoy my beauty bargains of the week. Click on the picture of me below. God Bless you all!

Let the fall festivites begin...

You all know I enjoy sharing with you what a day and life of Censtibly Chic is like.  This helps you understand that I have a life outside of styling and clothes...AKA~I am a mommy ladies.. I do come home and throw on my favorite cozy clothes (sometimes they do not match..shhhh!)  and somedays I bounce around town in my workout clothes. This is what a mommy or any busy lady does.  And to be honest with you, the life that I have, really inspires me to be more creative with my style and my blog (it's the little things.) Enjoy a few fall  family pics.

Yes, I enjoy Halloween too! especially with amazing freinds.  I know my costume is a bit lame, sorry for that folks. If you ever watch walking dead (I am in love with that show!) well, you will see in the picture below how I attempted to pull a certain character off, unfortunatley, the blood that I used got super nasty and so did my OCD....yikes! with that said, I went the safe route and found some ears and a tail at BIG LOTS and took my bloody sword (because I wanted some of the messy work I made to come with) and a black cat with a bloody sword it is! ...It worked : )

Hulk Hogan and A Kitty Cat. What an interesting combo.

Football and friends..can't beat that!

My little Drew Brees...

I can't forget going to Tennessee with some amazing friends with kids in tow, and we had a blast!!  Thank goodness Jeffery and Daniel both grew up together, and pull for the Crimson Tide, or we wouldn't be able to cherish these awesome memories that we have made with them. Love ya Daniel and Linds!

My morning jogs...they were tough but gorgeous!

And a little fun before we left....

Nothing like a pumpkin patch in the fall....

Our town does these fun hay bales in October. I was called to come and help out with the idea and design of our hay bale...I felt so honored! Our hay bale won 2nd place....YAY!!!  this was the first year our neigborhood won anything, needless to say, I was so excited!!  And a quick shout out to my sweet neighbors....you ROCK!

I'm so proud...:)

So, this is what I have been up to so far this fall. I can only say that I am blessed and I look forward to a very busy Holiday season. I will keep you posted on my everyday here and there stuff. And of course I will update you on all the latest styles and beauty bargains!

xoxo

God Bless,

Laura

Birthday Love part II

Happy Birthday to a wonderful Daddy, loving husband, my best friend and the love of my life. Dill and I are so very blessed to be able to celebrate your special day with you.  The day that I found out I was having an October baby I saw a hug grin on your face. You put your special day aside so we could celebrate another milestone in our life, sweet Dill Pickle. You are such a selfless person, with a kind heart who would do anything in the world for his family, friends, and those that need just a kind word. Jeffery, as selfless as you were when it came to sharing your birthday week I always want you to enjoy your special day. Thanks for always being my biggest cheerleader in life. Love you with all of our hearts.

Birthday Love part I

Happy Birthday to my strong willed, very busy, kind hearted little boy, I can’t believe four years have passed by so fast! I honestly didn’t really realize how quickly time would pass; I can truly say I think a lot of it goes by faster when you have such an active little boy like I do…ha! As you all know, I am one out of three girls in my family so adding an XY chromosome to my life was a huge shocker!!! But a sweet blessing all in one. Although, I am as girlie as it gets, I now can say God knew what he was doing when he blessed me with this little boy.  I talk about this a lot in my blog, about how Dillon inspires me. I love seeing his kind heart and his love for others. I really want to say he got that from both Jeffery and I, maybe he did. But deep down inside he has a different kind of love, a sweet four year old type of love, something that is pure and as genuine as it can be.  Of course there will always be things to work on when it comes to this vivacious four year old, but those challenges far exceed these past four years of life, love, and the silliness of our little Dill Pickle. So the late night worries of waking up I am sure will not pass no matter what age. I cannot image my life without this little boy. We are all a work in progress and I think this is the life lesson that God is constantly trying to show parents who have these strong willed boys.  With that said, he truly inspires me in so many ways. Happy Birthday Dill Pickle, we love you so much! Mommy and Daddy!

A trip down memory lane~Dills first birthday and his buddy~Duck Duck

I know Duck Duck will be just a memory one day, probably sooner than later. I am hoping to hang on to him as long as I can.  Besides, he is practically family now, and to be honest with you he probably means more to me than to Dill at times.

Duck is a wonderful ploy for so many things... time out, going places, getting him to be listen in school and the list keeps going on...shhhh!!! Don't tell.

BIG thanks to the Easter bunny for bringing Duck Duck, but it will be a sad day in the Handey house when he is no longer a thought in Dills mind.

The Emmy's, I really enjoyed most of the fashion last night. The dresses were classic and very tasteful.  Here are my favorite colors and my favorite styles for the evening.

These ladies really give off that old hollywood charm, combined with style and grace...and I absolutely love it!   I really feel like I could of been born in  50's -60's when it comes to fashion.   Maybe I can rock this style on the red carpet one day or have a client rock it on the red carpet...a girl can dream...ha!

The smell and bright bold colors of pumpkin are in the air ladies. I hope everyone had a wonderful start to the first weekend of fall....YAY!!!  While I am getting my fall style ready I am also rejoicing in God's sweet blessings. Taking the time to enjoy every little moment with my family, friends, and first and foremost God.

I   PRAISE!! God for allowing me to share with you my love for style, fashion and family simply by using my voice and my blog.  Making a difference in someone life is was I long to do. Enjoy, and embrace your style this season ladies.

Girl's weekend...9/10/12

A fun weekend of shopping and time with some great girlfriend’s….I say, YES, please!

A great time was had by all and we did your typical girlie things, bathing in the sun, shopping, eating, girl talk and friendships that I know will last a long time.  So take a look and see what fabulous friends I have and what we get to look forward to in the future. Let’s just say what happens I Destin or AKA-a girls vacation stays there.  : )

And I had some great time to myself for early morning jogs....Ahhhh, I love the beach!

And a morning cup a coffee...it's the little things ladies.

Dill had a big weekend himself.  Soccer and ….uuuuugh, I hate to say it, but, the Bama game.  He had a great time spending some much needed father son time with his daddy and to see and hear the joy in his face and heart put’s all of the rivalry aside.  Don’t get discouraged ladies, just because you see my baby dressed in that Bama gear, it doesn’t mean he doesn’t love our Auburn Tigers!

Unfortunately, I missed my little Dill’s first soccer game.  But, he and his daddy understood my need for some girl time.  Check out his pics below and I can’t wait to enjoy his next few games.  Hopefully we have the next David Beckham on our hands…Always dream BIG!

These are the small things that really kick me back in gear and really encourage me to continue perusing my dreams. Time with God, my precious friends, family, and a great vacation will certainly do this. God Bless you all! xoxo Laura with Centsibly Chic

So I was working this morning and listening to my back ground music...aka-Kathie Lee and Hoda, I know, don't judge me ladies. They are quite entertaining at times. While my eyes were glued to my computer, my ears were tuned into the the screaming words coming out of those two vibrant ladies mouths...reinventing yourself! I thought.....WOW! Why haven't I written about this sooner? I had to listen to Kathie Lee and Hoda to get it...hey, whatever works, huh?

So let's talk about reinventing your style ladies.  We are all resistant to change espicially when it comes to our style.  So, let's understand that when we embrace who we are and how God has made us this will be much easier to do and embrace.

Ladies, your reinvention should start from the inside out and that's loving who you are. Then we can accept our new style and really embrace our confidence.  Find your style!   Once you do this, you can walk out of the house with that confidence and happiness you long for.

Let me be your Hoda and Kathie Lee, open up your ears and your eyes and let Centsibly Chic help reinvent your confidence and style.  We all derseve to feel good about ourselves ladies and if it's just by asking me questions or just reading my blog, I want to encourage each and every one of you to get out there and get a boost of confidence. And remember, I now have a video blog and can send you messages via video. So many options to get you reinvented and feeling confident in your self! Xoxox Laura

6/14/12- Here's some great advice when it comes to your style

Big change takes some time to get use to; especially when it comes to your style.  You should feel great about how you look when you head out of the house!  That said, after a big change, feeling insecure is normal; but don't let it stop you from showing off your new look.  When you see what type of attention you get when you step out in your new style, your confidence with rise! Then when you notice peoples jaws actually dropping, you'll love it!  Embrace your new style and give it a chance.

Ladies, a little hint....I've talked to enough friends to feel pretty confident in saying this.....don't ask your husband's opinion on an outfit right before you go out the door!  Most men do not understand a women's style; plus, they often need some time to get used to change.  If you need a compliment to boost your confidence, ask your BFF or just wait until you get where you're going and the compliments will come in the form of double takes when you walk in the room!

Be confident, love who you are and how God made you!  Embrace every part of your body and new style!  Be bold ladies!!

Finally, so many of you gorgeous ladies are stuck in a style rut; let me help you find your way out!! Those never ending "what am I going to wear today" days or "nothing fits" days will be in the past!

XOXO Laura

Happy Anniversary Jeffery

Happy Anniversary to the one and only fella that is absolutely the best fit for me.  Thanks for the 9yrs of laughter, talks, supporting me in everything that I do, and the love that you continue share with me.

I will never forget the day I walked down the aisle and saw you eagerly waiting on me.  I was so very nervous, and the moment I saw you my nerves just lifted away.  I still have a peace when I see you walk through the door or wake up every morning to you.  Although these nine wonderful years have been trying I could not have asked for a better person to get through it with.  I love you; thank you so much for supporting me with my dreams and my constant creativity.   Both Dill and I are so very blessed to have you in our lives, and I look forward to many more years of martial bliss with you.

Love you Jeffery!
